Service and Repair Policy
(Effective October 2025)
1. Introduction
This Repair Policy sets out the terms and conditions for repair services provided by Vancouver Espresso LTD ("we," "us," or "our"). By dropping off your equipment, requesting an inspection, or authorizing repairs, you ("customer" or "you") acknowledge and agree to these terms. Proceeding with any repair constitutes acceptance of this policy.
2. Inspection, Authorization, and Quotes
By dropping off your machine, you authorize us to inspect, partially disassemble, and remove or replace parts as necessary to diagnose and repair the machine. This process carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:
-
Exposing or aggravating pre-existing wear or damage
- Potentially voiding manufacturer or extended warranties
- Discovering additional faults once the machine is opened
We may provide a quote outlining the estimated cost to repair the machine. Quotes are based on findings at the time of inspection and are estimates only—additional work may be required once repairs begin. Providing a quote does not create any binding obligation for either party.
If you choose to proceed with repairs, this authorization is binding on you, and you agree to have the work completed under the terms of this policy. Turnaround times are approximate.
3. Drop-Offs, Storage, and Custody
Your machine remains your property while in our care. We will exercise reasonable care and security to protect it, but we are not liable for any loss, theft, damage, or deterioration, including but not limited to normal wear, accidents, or events outside our control, except where such loss or damage results directly from our proven negligence.
If we are liable, our maximum responsibility is the machine’s actual cash value at the time of drop-off, whether or not the repair is completed.
Machines left unclaimed for 30 days after completion of service or issuance of a final quote will be considered abandoned (see Section 5).
4. Payment Terms
Payment in full is due upon pickup of the machine. Accepted payment methods are listed on our website.
Machines not picked up and paid for within 14 days may incur a storage fee. Machines left unpaid or unclaimed for more than 30 days will be considered abandoned (see Section 5).
5. Abandoned Machines
Machines left unclaimed for 30 days after completion or final quote will be considered abandoned.
We reserve the right to dispose of, sell, or recycle abandoned equipment to recover costs associated with diagnostics, repair, and storage.
No proceeds will be returned to the customer after covering our costs.
6. Warranty and Guarantee
Certain repairs include a limited warranty, covering specific parts and labor as noted on your invoice.
-
Exclusions: Warranty coverage does not include issues caused by misuse, neglect, external damage, including but not limited to scale, corrosion, electrical surges, water damage, or modifications.
-
Non-Transferable: Warranties apply only to the original customer.
-
Warranty Voiding: We reserve the right to void a warranty and refuse future service if a customer is abusive, threatening, or disrespectful.
7. Limitation of Liability
Our liability for any claim arising from our services is strictly limited to the lesser of the amount paid for the repair or the machine’s actual cash value at the time of drop-off.
We are not liable for any incidental, consequential, indirect, or special damages, including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, loss of use, business interruption, or loss of profits.
We do not assume responsibility for pre-existing conditions, manufacturer defects, or unrelated failures occurring before or after service. Repairs carry inherent risks, and you acknowledge and accept those risks.
8. Customer Responsibilities
-
Ensure your machine is reasonably clean and safe for inspection and repair.
-
Provide accurate and complete information about the machine and its issues.
-
Pick up and pay for your machine promptly upon completion.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel service at any time for any reason, including if the machine is unsafe, contaminated, excessively damaged, or the work is otherwise impractical.
9. Policy Updates
We reserve the right to update this policy at any time. The version posted on our website applies to services from the update date forward.
